You are a blessing

One year ago yesterday your Mother and I were at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. You and your brother were barely the size of my pinkie and your Mother had finished a series of tests to see if you both would be OK. Your brother didn't make it through because of a velamentous insertion of his umbilical cord into the placenta. As we sat near the window in the waiting room Thomas slipped away before your Mother was wheeled into the operating room. Of course we were heart broken when we found out, but we were even more concerned about your fate at this point. Over the next few weeks we were told that there were some irregularities in your chromosomes, but nothing that was related to a specifically known genetic disease. On top of that we were also told the death of your brother may have caused trauma to you. The good news is that we are one year removed from this sad time and you are a happy & healthy boy, and a blessing to our family. Merry Christmas Michael, Merry Christmas Thomas.

Bouncing Baby Boy

I took this picture of you and your sister a couple of weeks back. As I mentioned in your sister Caroline's blog the last couple weeks have been rough on you two. You both caught a nasty virus and we've been relegated to the house. The good news is you are both on the mend and should be able to dress up for Halloween.

You were born on May 10, 2007 at 9:35 am weighing 8lbs even and measuring 19 inches long. You have a big sister named Caroline , and your parents names are Tina and Mike.

On the day youe were born, we were all so relieved after worrying about you while your Mom was carrying you. You are a perfect little boy, and we will all enjoy everyday we have with you as we watch you grow up through the years.

You are now about 4 months old and today you had your first (semi)solid meal today, rice cereal.

You like to talk, smile and sleep most of the time and you are able to roll over from front to back and vice versa. You are also good at grabbing things and putting them in your mouth. At this point you weigh in at 15lbs and 15oz and are about 25 inches long.
